Do you feel like you're not making progress in French?

Learning French

That’s perfectly normal, and it happens to everyone.

As someone who is learning Arabic myself, I regularly go through periods of stagnation. Sometimes it feels like I’m not improving at all, but it’s important not to get discouraged.

One thing is certain: consistency is the key. Reviewing vocabulary regularly is essential, because a lack of practice often leads to forgetting.

So, what can you do?

* Make vocabulary lists.
* Use flashcards.
* Talk to yourself in French.
* Imagine conversations in your head.
* Talk to your pets in French (yes, it really helps!).
* Immerse yourself in the language and take every opportunity to speak: with a waiter at a restaurant, someone at the gym, a neighbour, a colleague…
* Plan a trip to France.
* Some people also find songs and movies incredibly helpful.

The important thing is not to be perfect, but to be consistent. And above all, do something you enjoy. Even just 10 or 15 minutes a day can make a huge difference in the long run.

What about you? What’s your tip for continuing to improve your French despite periods of stagnation?
